I find the idea about Christmas becoming less religious very fascinating, mainly because Christmas was never meant to be the biggest Catholic/Christian holiday, but it became so with capitalist schemes to get people to buy. It almost seems as if the religious importance of Christmas is being lowered back down to a previous level. Yet, other important holidays, such as Easter, are not taking more precedence and the Christmas holiday is still a huge deal.
